The 7 inches vinyl single, "We Are the Champions/We Will Rock You", was released on October 7, 1977 and is the band's 13th major single. It was released under EMI Group's EMI label in the UK and Warner Music Group's Elektra label in the US. The song was later included in the band's 6th major album "News of the World", which was released on October 28, 1977, barely two weeks after the single's release.
