Taiko no Tatsujin Wii: Do-Don to Nidaime! (Japanese: 太鼓の達人Wii ドドーンと2代目!, Taiko no Tatsujin U~ī Dodōn to Nidaime!) is the second Taiko no Tatsujin game on the Nintendo Wii. It was released on November 19, 2009.
Unlike the previous games, it comes in two retail packages: one with the game itself and one that bundled with the TaTaCon controller.
Gameplay[]
The gameplay is largely the same as the previous installment, but for the first time in the Taiko no Tatsujin series for video game consoles, it includes the Ura Oni tracks for certain songs.
Like the first Wii release, the story is also integrated into Play Mode, in which players can eventually unlock new features as they progress. Additionally, boss battles are a first in home console releases as they were originally first found previously on Meccha! Taiko no Tatsujin DS: Great Adventure of the Seven Islands!. The objective of the game is to fill up the tamashii battery to help bring back the memories of the robot, Alumi.
Plot[]
One night, Don and Katsu came across a broken robot while walking around the festival. The Taiko duo decided to bring it to the Municipal Wadaiko Laboratory and asks Professor Otowa and his assistant Kodama see if it could be fixed. With the help of the Taiko power from the Taiko duo, the robot is fixed and awake. The robot, now known as Alumi, doesn't remember anything except her name. Hearing this, Don and Katsu promise to help her recover her memories.
Later, Mecha-Don crashes into the laboratory out of nowhere, who explains that he was attacked by something that is ruining the festival. Surveying the surveillance footage, Don and his company see the havoc throughout the festival. Soon, evil scientist Dr. Waruru, who despises festivals, infiltrate the festival with his robots he designed himself. Don and Katsu transform their appearances to manage each of the robot's attacks and conditions before battling every one of them.
After all of Waruru's robots are destroyed, he turns to Alumi under his control and brainwashes her into a more hateful nature. Don and Katsu try to use their taiko power to restore her back to where she was before. However, her memories slowly return but has broken down and ends up dead. With help from Bachio Sensei, Don and Katsu are instructed to use their taiko power to restore Alumi.
Enraged at losing all of his robots, Dr. Waruru invades the Wadaiko Labaratory in an attempt to dominate Don and Katsu himself, all the while Alumi is restored back to her old self. Don and Katsu transform into a Shisa costume to tackle the conditions and battle Dr. Waruru, eventually causing him to be sent flying out of sight, restoring peace to the town.

Trivia[]
- Officially, there are 70 songs in total in the game. However, a 71st song ID named "1STPAI" was discovered via datamining and only contained the song's file and nothing else, even lacking the notechart. According to Hiroyuki "Takahashi" Takahashi, a former staff of the Taiko Team, that the team forgot to remove said song ID when the game was released.
