Trivia[]

Wadaiko3

A Wadaiko 3 machine.

  • An English version of Taiko no Tatsujin 3 would be test-marketed in the U.S. in 2002, under the name Wadaiko 3. The English version would ultimately not enter full production; it is estimated that less than five machines were produced in total, one of which is currently held in the Digital Game Museum in California.[1][2]
    • While any changes to the game software are currently unknown, artwork of Don-chan on the marquee's lanterns and instruction card has a considerably altered design compared to the Japanese version; being given smaller, further apart eyes. This may suggest there was a planned American redesign for a Don-chan character.
    • The "Wadaiko" name would later be used for the Brazilian arcade game Wadaiko Master in 2014.
