Taiko no Tatsujin (Japanese: 太鼓の達人, Taiko no Tatsujin) is the very first Taiko no Tatsujin arcade released on February 21, 2001. It was the first release in the Taiko no Tatsujin series.

Gameplay[]

The basic set-ups of the Taiko no Tatsujin arcade is as follows:

  • A monitor, which displays the song selection menu and gameplay screens.
  • A pair of taiko drums, which has sensors built into the faces and the rims. Those sensors registers the inputs as player hits the drum with the bachi sticks.
  • 2 pairs of bachi sticks, which the player can welds to hits the drum with.

The arcade is split into three difficulties: Easy, Normal and Hard, however it should be noted that not all songs/musics has the same difficulty sets. It supports up to two players at a time.

The arcade runs on Namco System 10 arcade system board, whose processing power is similar to that of Sony's original PlayStation console.
