Taiko: Drum Master

Taiko: Drum Master (Japanese: 太鼓の達人 TAIKO DRUM MASTER, Taiko no Tatsujin Taiko Drum Master) is a Taiko no Tatsujin game released by Namco, and the first North American release in the Taiko no Tatsujin series. It was first released in North America on October 26, 2004 and in Japan on March 17, 2005.

Based upon Atsumare! Matsuri da! Yondaime, it is the first Taiko no Tatsujin game to be released in North America.

Gameplay

Being based upon the fourth generation of the game, the core gameplay mechanics are exactly the same, However the lanterns on top were removed and a stage was added for Taiko: Drum Master. As such, mechanics such as Go-Go Time (Which wasn't implemented until Go! Go! Godaime) are absences. The Don Buri Dondon mini-game, which existed in Atsumare! Matsuri da! Yondaime, was removed.

Being localized for the North America market, Taiko: Drum Master has English text and voice-over. It is currently the only Taiko no Tatsujin game released in North America to feature English voice-over, as subsequent releases including Drum Session! and Drum 'n' Fun! retains the Japanese voice-over.
