Namahage (Japanese: なまはげ, Namahage) is a recurring character in Taiko no Tatsujin series.

Biography

Appearance

Namahage's appearance is based on that of the normal Namahage's appearance; a humanoid donning a mino straw cap, the red oni mask and brown gloves and boots.

Namahage is often seen holding a teoke and a gohei rod.

Personality

Despite his scary appearance, he is actually a nice person. He tries to talk to the kids, but always ends up scares them away due to his appearance.

Unfortunately, his scary appearance is also what gets him into some troubles; In one instance, he was mistaken for being a robber.

Background

Namahage was born in the Hokuriku region. He and Shishimai had some relations to the taiko drum factory that manufactures the very two drums that would become Don and Katsu.

Namahage usually appears during the song plays and in some mini-games.

Drum 'n' Fun!

In addition to his appearance in the mini-game 'RLGL' where he take the role of the 'curator', Namahage is also one of the unlockable performing characters in the game. His performing skill make missing the notes impossible, plus the decreased amount of Soul Gauge depletion.
