The maxi single 17 cm vinyl release, "Let's Go!! Rider Kick", was first released on May 25, 1971.
The Hiroshi Fujioka version of the song was used as the first opening theme song for the Japanese TV tokusatsu series Kamen Rider, from episode 1 to 13. Following Fujioka's bike accident during filming the TV show (since Fujioka is also the lead actor who plays the show's hero, Takeshi Hongo/Kamen Rider 1) that leds him to be hospitalized for 8 months, the Masato Shimon version of the song was being used from episode 14 to episode 88.
The song was covered numerous times by many artists, with the well-known ones being the rock band Rider Chips and the idol group Kamen Rider Girls. Only two of those cover versions were used in the Kamen Rider franchise: The 2011 version performed by Kamen Rider Girls was used as the ending song for the 2011 tokusatsu movie OOO, Den-O, All Riders: Let's Go Kamen Riders, while the 2016 version performed by Rider Chips was used as one of the ending theme songs for the 2016 tokusatsu movie Kamen Rider 1.
