About the song Edit

The song was originally included in the band's second album "Blue Blood", which was released on April 29, 1989 under the CBS/Sony (Now known as Sony Music Entertainment) label. It was later included in the 8cm CD single of the same name, released on September 1, 1989 under Sony Music Entertainment's SIREN SONG label.

It was first introduced in Taiko no Tatsujin 8 on the arcade platforms and in Taiko no Tatsujin: Doka! to Oomori Nanadaime on the console platforms.

Kurenai is the first song to feature 999 notes, the highest limit of notes for any Taiko song, and it holds significance just because of that. Although it is the maximum limit, there exist songs with more than 999 notes as well.
