"A Cruel Angel's Thesis" (Japanese: 残酷な天使のテーゼ, Zankoku na tenshi no tēze) is a song performed by Yoko Takahashi.

About the song

The maxi-single of the same name, which included Takahashi's song "Moon's Labyrinth", was first released on October 25, 1995 under King Records' Starchild label. The song was later included in Takahashi's first album "Best Pieces", which was released on January 25, 1996.

It was the opening theme song for the 1995 TV anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion.

It was first introduced in Taiko no Tatsujin 3 on the arcade platforms and later in Taiko no Tatsujin: Tobikkiri! Anime Special on the console platform. On the arcade platform, it was first included within the same arcade where Takahashi's other song, "Nijiiro Yumeiro Taikoiro", was first introduced.
